About Us

A Small, family run Gaelthacht business Est. 1981 c/o John Joe and Mary Holleran, John Joe and Mary started out Cairealacht Chill Bhride Teo as a two tier company;

1980’s under Island and Coastal Development, the company was involved in the construction of various Piers and Airstrips on Galway/Mayo Islands. To allow safer access routes for the islanders to reach the mainland.

2008 Mary & John Joe’s son Shane became company director; with his college backround in Construction Management and Engineering he steered the company to its first Coastal Protection project, undertaking a sub-contractor role, on a major harbour development on Caladh Mór, Inis Meain, Aran Islands. KSG constructed 1600 armoured xblocs for breakwater to prevent coastal erosion on the island. During the production of these xblocs Shane designed a Jacking System for the mobile xbloc moulds which ensured the smooth release of the moulds from the Concrete xblocs itself. As a result of this NO xbloc was damaged and NONE of them were rendered unusable.
2015 Shane and Brother Walter Holleran, with his Qualifications also in Construction, took the reins of the company, when John Joe and Mary retired from the business. It was in 2016 that KSG went international, KSG travelled to Calais, supplying 27 4m3 XBloc Moulds & Training to the Developers of the Calais Port, France, Coastal Protection Project.
